Sig Global Services was founded by Burke Sigurdur Brownfeld. Burke is a criminal justice and corporate security writer, speaker, and trainer, with extensive experience working, living, and adventuring in both the United States and internationally. As Burke is a dual citizen of Iceland and the U.S., he brings a global perspective to each client's challenges.
Burke has worked as a police officer in Virginia, served as a regional security manager for the United States Peace Corps In Latin America, oversaw security for the Washington DC metro system, and has corporate security leadership experience in the Fortune 500.
Burke also served as a Consulting Producer on the film Charm City, and delivered training on "empathetic policing" to the Baltimore Police Academy. Burke also regularly delivers his leadership session: "Empathy: The Leadership Superpower" for corporate security leaders and police agencies. Burke has performed a wide variety of complex consultations ranging from a risk assessment of a national park in Bhutan to spending time with anti-poaching squads in The Congo. As a result, SGS has a vast global network and the ability to provide innovative solutions for clients, ranging from NGO's to Fortune 500 to police departments.
